I’m in Korea where it is waaaaay too cold to take a stroll outside. So, I’m just sitting here reminiscing about Taiwan as I upload the rest of my photos.

Chief amongst my reminiscences is how I used to do my laundry back in Shilin. It was one of those laborious processes of praying that the washing machine got everything right and managed to at least wring out some of the excess water. Then came the work-out otherwise known as hanging up clothes to dry. For some reason I took pictures of all my hanging laundry.

Ah, how I now fondly remember scrambling up on the rickety ladder, balancing, hanging the laundry up on the high beams, and praying I wouldn’t fall over the side of the building…

It was kind of funny. Every time I talked to my landlord, she would remind me again and again to remember to lock the laundry area so the people next door couldn’t take advantage of our laundry machine and raise the water and electric bill…

Ah, the good old days…
